Ayahuasca Experiences

Ayahuasca Experience, has anyone tried it?
For those of you that don’t know what it is, it’s a ritual potion made from various roots and leaves of the Amazon. Drinking it is supposed to change your life; I’ve read a lot about it. I’m really interesting in doing it, as it’s one of the world’s great secrets. I’m not religious but I do believe the things I read about this brew. Also I don’t wish to drink it to get high, I’m not into drugs. I just wish to open my mind and see life through a different perspective. I hear it has healing properties?
Back in 2000 I was in Peru staying in a village on a tributary to the amazon. A couple from America had come solely for the reason of trying Ayahuasca which the local Witch Doctor prepared and they both drank one night. As an impartial observer it didn’t look as if either gained any enlightenment or health – rather they spent most of the night vomitting. I think this is to be expected seeing as it is poisonous. The next day they said they didn’t really gain anything from it except that just before they threw up for hours it was kinda weird. They had a lot of packaged food they gave me the next day because they were feeling sick which was nice of them.
