Ancient School Of Wisdom
Can you explain the band U2 and spirituality?
Sometimes I wonder if they are in a ancient school of wisdom? They definately seem like mystics. Get creative add favorite songs/lyrics and personal experience also.
Oh a great band. There are so many of their songs lift me up there. Pride ( in the name of love) for Rev. Martin Luther King has to be a very conscious inspiring song.
Early morning, April 4
Shot rings out in the Memphis sky
Free at last, they took your life
They could not take your pride
The live version “for the reverend Martin Luther King……. Sing” puts a shiver up my back and emotion all through me. Such a homage, such respect for a man of peace.
Sunday Bloody Sunday ( if you live here in Northern Ireland) is just like……. put an end to the crap lads, we’ve lost enough.
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
And the battle’s just begun
There’s many lost, but tell me who has won
The trench is dug within our hearts
And mothers, children, brothers, sisters
Torn apart
To me this speaks of the religious trench in the hearts of many here in N. Ireland who have been brought up with the bitterness of history
Bad….. oohhhh speaks to my heart and takes me back to another place. A love that could never be, despite joint dreams of how it could have been. Brings back memories of a love I will never have need to question, a love that could never survive and wry, bittersweet memories of “the one that got away “, who will always own a large part of my heart.
If I could through myself
Set your spirit free
I’d lead your heart away
See you break, break away
Into the light
And to the day
To let it go
And so to fade away
To let it go
And so fade away
U2 are mystical genuises, they sing of spirituality without the religion getting in the way.
Your question proves that it’s not just an Irish thing, it’s Universal for those of us who love and truly connect with another’s soul.
